Martin Brundle has confirmed he will commentate on 16 of the 22 races scheduled on the 2026 Formula 1 calendar.
Brundle, who is now 67, has operated on a reduced schedule in recent seasons.
In 2016, he suffered a minor heart attack while running to the podium at the Monaco Grand Prix, which required an operation to fit a 23mm stent.
Brundle often misses the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, and tends to be absent from the early-morning races.

He missed both the Chinese and Japanese Grands Prix at the beginning of 2026, but will return to the commentary booth for the Miami Grand Prix next month.
Brundle's commentary partner, David Croft, also no longer commentates on every race and is set to miss three Grands Prix this year.

Speaking on the Sky Sports F1 Podcast, Brundle explained that he is committed to doing 16 races - down from 18 in 2025 - across the entirety of the 2026 season.
"I do 16 races a year, so I have to miss some and they tend to be the early hours of the morning races," he said.
"I always feel a bit sad when I'm not in Suzuka because I love that track as a driver and as a broadcaster. But I can't do them all these days.
"I'm definitely in Miami. It's going to be one of the biggest relaunches in the history of Formula 1, I think."
The Grand Prix in Miami will mark Formula 1's return after a five-week absence, which has been prompted by the cancellation of races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Sky Sports F1's presenters, pundits and commentators in 2026
Much like in previous seasons, Sky rotate their broadcast personnel across race weekends due to the amount of races on the calendar and the high amounts of travel involved.
There is also a combination of roles at each weekend. For instance, pit lane reporters Natalie Pinkham and Rachel Brookes act as main presenters when lead presenter Simon Lazenby is absent, while Bernie Collins acts as both a pit lane reporter, occasional commentator and as a main pundit.
