Lewis Hamilton was reportedly the subject of a stunning swap deal that could've changed the entire history of Formula 1.
Hamilton, 40, will always be remembered as one of the best drivers in F1 history.
The Brit is level with Michael Schumacher in the history books, with both winning seven world titles.
So far in his career, Hamilton has won 105 races and has been on the podium 202 times.

In total, the Stevenage-born superstar has amassed 5008.5 career points.
After winning his first title with McLaren in 2008, Hamilton won six world championships when he was driving for Mercedes.
However, things could have been very different as Hamilton was reportedly the subject of a potential swap deal.
Back in 2016, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso claimed that he could've swapped places with Hamilton before he left Ferrari for McLaren ahead of the 2015 season.

As reported by ESPN, Alonso told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: "Yes, that offer was there. The circumstances meant that it came up, but Ferrari didn't want it at that point. They were in talks with me to renew until 2019, but Ferrari's offer did not convince me, and I went to McLaren-Honda.
"I don't know if Hamilton knew about it."

In response, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff played down Alonso's claims.

He said: "We should be careful what is said in the media.
"There was some interest expressed but we were in negotiation with Lewis at the time. What I said to Fernando was that while we were negotiating with Lewis, we wouldn’t talk to anyone else. And we stuck to that commitment."

Prior to the 2025 season, Hamilton did get a move to Ferrari after he decided to leave Mercedes.

However, what was described as a dream transfer has so far been a nightmare, with Hamilton struggling to adapt to his new team.
As things stand, the 40-year-old is sixth in the 2025 world championship, having collected 146 points.
Meanwhile, teammate Charles Leclerc is fifth on 210 points.
