Lewis Hamilton reportedly called an last minute secret meeting with Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur just hours before the Miami Grand Prix.

Seven time champion Hamilton has endured several ups and downs since his shock move from Mercedes to Ferrari at the start of the 2025 Formula One season.

During last weekend's Miami Grand Prix, the Brit had a frustrating afternoon as he finished eighth, three seconds behind teammate Charles Leclerc.

In the fallout of the disappointing race, it has been revealed that just hours before heading onto track, Hamilton called an emergency meeting with Ferrari boss Vasseur.

Despite pulling off a shock win in the sprint race ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix, Hamilton has failed to finish on the podium for any of the main races this season and is currently 12 points behind Leclerc in the standings.

His poor start to the season has led to rumours that he is no longer happy at Ferrari and may have had a falling out with new boss Vasseur.

However, while appearing on the F1 Nation podcast, French F1 reporter Frederic Ferret has put these rumours to bed while revealing details of a meeting between Hamilton and Vasseur shortly before the Miami Grand Prix got underway.

Ferret said: “Lewis went to speak with Fred while we were having a coffee and said: ‘I want to speak with you about the tyres.’

“It was 9am on the morning of the race. He wasn’t complaining. He was trying to help.

“There is not at all a problem. We heard Lewis speak tough on Bono when they had problems.

“It’s easy for journalists to write: ‘Ferrari, big problems.’ It’s more complicated than that.”

Ferret further explained that there are no issues between Hamilton and Vasseur and that overall things are relativley positive at Ferrari despite the poor start to the season.

He added: [The atmosphere is] 100 per cent [harmonious] – and I am not bull******** you.

“They are very calm and they want to improve."

The pressure will be higher than ever for Hamilton next weekend, as he returns to the track for Ferrari's home race in Imola.
