Jeremy Clarkson has responded to Lewis Hamilton after the seven-time Formula 1 world champion's dog, Roscoe, passed away.
Last week, Hamilton took to social media and asked fans to keep Roscoe, who had fallen ill, in their prayers.
The Brit also revealed that Roscoe was in a coma after suffering complications from contracting pneumonia.
Hamilton stated that an effort was going to be made to wake Roscoe, but sadly, he did not make it.

On Monday afternoon, Hamilton confirmed that Roscoe passed away on Sunday evening.
The 40-year-old stated that he had to make the decision to put Roscoe to sleep, something he described as one of the “most painful experiences” of his life.
Posting pictures of himself and Roscoe, Hamilton wrote on Instagram: "After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe. He never stopped fighting, right until the very end. I feel so grateful and honoured to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and true friend.
"Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I ever made, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together. Although I lost Coco, I have never been faced with putting a dog to sleep before, though I know my mum and many close friends have."

Hamilton continued: "It is one of the most painful experiences and I feel a deep connection to everyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet. Although it was so hard, having him was one of the most beautiful parts of life, to love so deeply and to be loved in return. Thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown Roscoe over the years. It has been so special to witness and feel. He died on Sunday evening, 28th September in my arms."
In response to Hamilton's sad announcement, Clarkson, who is a massive F1 fan, wrote: "Really sorry to hear that. It’s hell."
Over the years, Roscoe became an F1 icon as he was often seen arriving at the paddock with Hamilton during race weekends.

In the early years, Roscoe was often joined by Coco, who was Hamilton's other pet dog.
However, Coco sadly passed away in 2020 from a suspected heart attack.
F1 will return this weekend with the Singapore Grand Prix, which will take place around the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
