Lewis Hamilton has been branded a ‘spoiled child’ by former F1 racer Marc Surer in a brutal interview.
Hamilton has endured a difficult 2025 season, and is currently sixth in the Drivers’ standing with 121 points.
Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc sits 44 points and one place above Hamilton in the rankings, which are led by McLaren driver Oscar Piastri on 324 points.
The iconic Italian team are also third in the Constructors’ Standings on 286 points, with McLaren well out in front on 623 points.

Hamilton has been critical of the Ferrari car this season, often describing the problematic SF-25 as “alien” to him.
The Brit is yet to podium in a full Grand Prix race, with Ferrari now focussing on the 2026 season as F1 prepares to switch to a new rulebook, which the Italian brand are hoping will prove beneficial.
'He's a spoiled child'
However, Surer has launched a scathing attack on the seven-time world champion, who the former Arrows and Brabhams driver believes only wins races when he is in the best cars.

“Lewis Hamilton is simply a spoiled child who has always driven the best cars. If the car suits him, he wins hands down,” he told Austrian magazine Vollgas via Motorsport Week.
“But as soon as he doesn’t have the fastest car, he runs into problems.”
Surer then went on to compare Hamilton with Fernando Alonso, who he outlined performs admirably despite the handicap of a difficult car.

“He [Hamilton] is not like Alonso, who can live with compromises and gets the most out of every car,” the Swiss said.
“I did not expect that. I thought he would still shine in the races thanks to his experience. But that is not happening.”
Surer also suggested that having previously struggled with George Russell as a teammate, similar is happening with Leclerc making up the other half of the Ferrari team.
“On the other hand, he already struggled over the past two years alongside George Russell. At Ferrari, he now has an extremely fast teammate in Charles Leclerc.”
Hamilton botched Ferrari order in Azerbaijan
The 40-year-old endured a better race last weekend as he finished eighth place in Azerbaijan as he rose four places having started the race, which was won by Max Verstappen, in 12th, though Hamilton did botch an order from Ferrari after being instructed to allow Leclerc, who finished in ninth, to pass.
