Lewis Hamilton has taken drastic action to improve his performances at Ferrari just days before the United States Grand Prix.

The British seven-time world champion has endured a difficult debut season with Ferrari, struggling to recapture the form he showed at Mercedes.

After 18 races, Hamilton is yet to finish on a Grand Prix podium, with his only victory this season coming in the sprint race at the Chinese GP back in March

It leaves Hamilton sixth in the Drivers' Standings, 48 points behind his teammate Charles Leclerc and a huge 211 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri.

With just six races left of the campaign, time is running out for Hamilton to record a podium finish and end the season on a high. According to Corriere della Sera, Hamilton has now sent another detailed report to the Ferrari hierarchy, outlining the changes he believes are needed to turn the team around.

It is not the first time that Hamilton has spoken directly to the senior figures about the team's performance.

Back in July, at the Belgian GP, he held meetings where he discussed the structural improvements that the team needed to make.

He reportedly suggested several upgrades based on tests that he ran in the simulator, with the hope that they would be adapted into next year's car. The same report also claim that Hamilton is unhappy with the disconnect between the work at Maranello and how the team perform at the track.

He has urged the team to make improvements to their procedures.

Hamilton also expected to have a greater role in pit lane decision-making and race strategies.

But the Italian team's internal politics is cited as the reason that Hamilton has found his requests going unanswered.

It leaves the 40-year-old in a challenging position as he nears the end of his first season with Ferrari.

Although Hamilton remains tied with Michael Schumacher on seven world titles, he is still determined to break that record and claim an eighth championship before he retires.

However, some F1 fans have begun to question whether he is still capable of competing for a title.

Hamilton has made several uncharacteristic errors this year, including crashing out of the Dutch GP in August, which he later admitted was his mistake.

The most recent race weekend in Singapore added to his frustrations, as Leclerc finished sixth, while Hamilton came home in eighth.

The Briton finished 85 seconds behind his former teammate and the race winner George Russell.

It has been one of Ferrari's worst seasons in years, but they will hope to salvage something from Sunday's race in Texas.
