Lewis Hamilton cut a frustrated figure as he struggled during the Chinese Grand Prix.

On Sunday, the second race of the 2025 Formula 1 season took place at the Shanghai International Circuit.

McLaren star Oscar Piastri started on pole and ended up winning ahead of Lando Norris and George Russell.

Meanwhile, Hamilton, who qualified fifth, came home sixth after a largely disappointing race.

The 40-year-old had to let teammate Charles Leclerc pass as the Monegasque showed more pace despite losing a part of his front wing.

Eventually, Hamilton tried a two-stop strategy which ultimately did not work.

However, there was a positive end to the race as he managed to clock the fastest lap of the entire race.

During the race, a frustrated Hamilton said on his team radio: "Give me some feedback guys, come on. I need some feedback of where I’m losing."

After his race engineer Riccardo Adami replied: "Exit 13," Hamilton added: "Yea you told me that already."

Adami then said: "The rest seems good. Keep monitoring."

After the chequered flag, Hamilton was positive with his words as he concluded: "Guys I know that was tough. Not the result that we wanted but let’s keep pushing. There’s improvements we can make, for sure. Let’s not give up."

Adami responded: "Yep. We did the maximum, you did the maximum with the pace we had."

Speaking after winning the race, a jubilant Piastri said: "It's been an incredible weekend from start to finish. The car's been pretty mega the whole time. I think today was a bit of a surprise with how differently the tyres behaved.

"I'm just so proud of the whole weekend. This is what I feel like I deserved from last week. The team did a mega job with the one-two. I'm very happy."

F1 will now return in two weeks' time with the Japanese Grand Prix, which will be held around the famous Suzuka Circuit on April 6.
