Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton was once left feeling terrible after eating one particular meal.

Hamilton, 40, will go down as one of the best F1 drivers in history having won a record-equalling seven world titles.

Although he is getting towards the end of his career, Hamilton appears in top shape as he always has his A-game on when it comes to fitness.

Back in 2021, while speaking to Esquire Middle East, the Brit picked out his ultimate cheat meal that left him feeling terrible afterwards.

He said: "Pancakes are probably my biggest cheat meal. Pancakes in my winter is probably what I have.

"In the morning I have a stack of 7 or 8, just depending on how much I can eat that day, and just a lot of syrup, butter, vegan butter. On each level, you have butter, butter, butter, and loads of syrup. Thats my cheat, loads of calories. I feel terrible afterwards."

In 2022, Hamilton, who follows a plant-based diet, revealed the snack that he eats everyday.

He said to Vanity Fair: "I used to look at hummus and I was like, ‘No way would I ever eat hummus!

"And I love it now. It’s my go-to thing every day."

When asked why he went for a plant-based diet, Hamilton explained to Men's Health: "I have more energy; I’m so much more productive. I wake up feeling way better, clearer in thought and fresher in my body.

"I recover quicker; I sleep better. My skin cleared up. I have fewer allergies. There are just so many impacts."

He added: "I’m physically in better shape than I’ve ever been, and I’m more successful than ever right now, and my plant-based programme has played such a big role in that."

Ahead of the 2025 season, Hamilton made headlines after announcing his decision to leave Mercedes for Ferrari.

Since then, Hamilton has had a mixed start to life with the Scuderia, the Brit finished in 10th place in Australia, won the sprint race in Shanghai but was then disqualified after the Chinese Grand Prix due to excessive skid wear.

Hamilton will look to do better next weekend at the Japanese Grand Prix, which will take place around the Suzuka Circuit.
