Lewis Hamilton reveals he shut down 'bull****' parts of the script for Brad Pitt's new F1 movie

The Brit was not happy with one aspect of the movie.

Lewis Hamilton has spoken out about a 'bull****' part of the upcoming Formula One movie, and how he is involved in changing it.

Earlier this year it was announced that Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt would be starring in 'F1' a movie based off the popular motorsport.

Formula One superstar Hamilton is heavily involved in the film, taking on the role of technical advisor and producer, despite still competing in the sport.

And now, he has pulled the curtain back on the process of making the film, and revealed one specific aspect of the movie which he wasn't happy with and how he forced it to change.

Speaking to Esquire, Hamilton said: “Ehren [Kruger, screenwriter] basically did a ton of research, watched a lot of races, came to a bunch of races, and then went away and wrote up a script.

"But we would sit and talk about what racing is about. Then once he wrote the script, I would sit with him and call bull****, basically, on the things that don’t seem real and are not what F1 is about and try to make sure that it’s as authentic as possible.

“Then at the same time, I started a production company, so I’m a producer with these guys. I’ve been able to be involved in all areas. It is making sure the cast is diverse, making sure we’ve got a woman in a pit stop, which we never, ever had at the actual track."

Hamilton then went into detail about what exactly it was that he was unhappy about in the film.

"It would just be racing scenarios and technical jargon engineers would talk.

"But particularly racing scenarios and sequences between overtakes and pit stops and strategies and all those sorts of things. There may have been a crash that was like the car hits the wall and flips and lands on the wheels and keeps going, and that doesn’t happen in Formula One.”

Following 11 years at Mercedes, Hamilton shocked F1 fans in February when he announced that he would be leaving the team to race for Ferrari next season.

He will replace Carlos Sainz Jr. who will instead race for Williams in the 2024/25 season.
