A picture that included Lando Norris had to be deleted on social media due to contractual reasons.

In 2025, Norris clinched his maiden Formula 1 title after finishing two points ahead of Red Bull superstar and four-time champion Max Verstappen.

Reflecting on his championship victory, Norris said: "I mean, it feels amazing, I now know what Max feels like. I want to congratulate Max and Oscar, my two biggest competitors the whole season.

"It's been a pleasure to race against both of them and an honour, I've learned a lot from both of them as well. I've enjoyed it and it has been a long year but we did it and I'm so proud of everyone."

In preparation for the 2026 campaign, the F1 drivers have been jetting around the world for a well-earned holiday.

Last week, Norris was spotted in a social media post that was uploaded by one of his close friends' partners.

However, the picture that contained the F1 star was swiftly deleted, leading to speculation from fans.

Now, Norris' close friend, Max Fewtrell, has clarified the situation, claiming that the picture had to be removed due to contractual reasons relating to the McLaren star's watch.

He said on a live stream: "The main problem is that there is a contract with a tiktok, a clock that goes on your wrist. And the photo, was a different tiktok that was not on the contract.

"So that's why, we all looked at it after and we were like 'Okay, that's not the right tiktok'. That's actually, genuinely why."

Over the years, Swiss luxury watch company Richard Mille have worked with McLaren and Ferrari.

The likes of Norris, Oscar Piastri, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are often seen wearing Richard Mille watches during a race weekend.

Speaking in December, Amanda Mille, brand and partnerships director for Richard Mille, discussed working with Norris.

She said, via GQ: "As a brand, we are committed to pushing boundaries and breaking barriers, and we always partner with athletes who share that same mindset. Many of our innovative ideas come directly from our partners as they test the watch within their discipline.

"What Lando has achieved since joining McLaren proves that with unwavering determination and a clear vision, anything is possible – a philosophy at the very heart of our brand."
