Lando Norris didn't hold back when fans started booing him following his win in the Mexico Grand Prix.
After securing pole position in qualifying, Norris produced a dominant drive at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to win the Mexico Grand Prix and massively boost his chances of winning the Drivers' Championship.
Norris' win in Mexico puts him on top of the Championship table, just one point ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri who finished the race in fifth.
Meanwhile the win further extended the Brit's lead over reigning champion Max Verstappen who, despite finishing the Mexico GP in third, is now 36 points off the championship leader with four race weekends left to go.

However, despite the impressive drive from Norris, the McLaren driver was not received well by fans who booed him post-race, something that Norris was more than happy to address.

While several of his rivals were involved in a highly-dramatic start to the race, Norris quickly established a healthy lead over second-placed Charles Leclerc, allowing him to comfortably win the race by over 30 seconds.
But, due to the popularity of Verstappen in Mexico, many fans in attendance were not exactly happy to see Norris pull off such a statement performance, and they were not shy to let him know.

Despite this, Norris welcomed the negative reaction, saying that, although he would prefer fans to be cheering his name, he actually found the boos to be quite funny.
"People can do what they want, honestly," he said post-race.
"They have the right to do it if they want to do it. I think that's sport sometimes.
"I don't know why I can't stop laughing when I get booed. I think it makes it more entertaining for me. So yeah, they can keep doing it if they want.

"Of course, you don't want it. I prefer to have people cheer for me. It was the same in Monza and a few other places.
"I don't know why, I just can't stop laughing, so if they want to continue they can."

The reaction from fans was so severe that one journalist suggested that it could be reacting to the fan theory that McLaren have been favouring Norris over Piastri despite the fact that the Australian driver has led the championship until this weekend.

Reacting to to the question, Norris said: “Sure. If they want to think that, then they certainly have the right to. They can think whatever they want.
“Yeah. I guess from us as a team, of course, we try and do things fairly. That was the comment we made back then. The same with two years ago in Budapest when I could have won the race and had to let Oscar back through and let him win a race he deserved to win."
