Lando Norris' X-rated gesture to rival Max Verstappen has been spotted during a heated Miami Grand Prix on Sunday.

Norris finished second to teammate Oscar Piastri at Miami Gardens to continue McLaren's dominant run in the 2025 season, with George Russell of Mercedes completing the podium.

Having been in pole position following his victory in qualifying, Max Verstappen was disappointed to end up in fourth position and now finds himself 32 points behind Piastri in the standings after six races.

Norris and Verstappen have clashed before and on the very first lap in the Magic City, the Brit made his move to try and overtake the reigning world champion after he locked up and was forced wide on Turn Two.

The stewards looked into the incident as Norris felt he was forced off track but no action was taken.

Later on, with the two in second and third, Norris made another attempt and unlike his teammate Piastri, struggled to get past the Dutchman.

The 25-year-old was left frustrated and in footage circulating from his car, Norris appeared to give Verstappen the middle finger.

Fans on X erupted with reaction, with some calling for Norris to be punished for his gesture.

One wrote: "Unsportsman behavior."

A second added: "Isn't there a punishment for this."

Another commented: "Lando you’re so funny please never change."

A fourth said: "Finally some reaction from him than just smiling away when being thrown around."

In the end Norris, Piastri and Russell did all overtake Verstappen and afterwards, he claimed that the Red Bull driver could have finished in third place but felt he sabotaged himself by the way in which he tried to fight against McLaren.

"It was fine. He's fighting hard, but it's up to him to do that," Norris said after the race, as per Sky Sports.

"He ruined his own race. He's not racing very smart. He probably could have finished third today, and he didn't because of that. He's fighting hard, as always expected, but that's way it is.

Verstappen is third in the overall standings with 99 points, having picked up one win and been on the podium three times.

After the Miami race, he was involved in awkward interview with Sky Sports reporter Rachel Brookes when asked if he was predictable or unpredictable but did concede that he was "very far" from winning the race.

He said: "I tried to do my best. We put ourselves in a good starting position. I tried to give it a good battle, have a bit of fun out there at the same time. We couldn't keep them behind.

"The rest was just a bit unlucky, with the VSC, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter when you're P3 or P4, you're here to target the win and we were very far from that."
