Mercedes fans spot what Kimi Antonelli did immediately after his first ever F1 podium and it speaks volumes

Kimi Antonelli secured his maiden Formula 1 podium at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Fans have been reacting on social media after spotting what Kimi Antonelli did following the Canadian Grand Prix.

On Sunday, Italian teenager Antonelli became the third youngest podium finisher in Formula 1 history after coming home in P3 in Montreal, Canada.

The Mercedes star finished behind Max Verstappen and teammate George Russell, who won the race.

At the age of 18 years and 294 days old, Antonelli became the third youngest driver to finish on the podium, after Verstappen and Lance Stroll.

He is also the first Italian driver to secure a top-three finish since Jarno Trulli at the 2009 Japanese Grand Prix.

After the race, a clip of Antonelli went viral on social media.

As he drove back towards the pits, Antonelli was heard saying: "Where do I need to go?"

Usually, the podium finishers would park their cars in a separate space away from the rest of the grid.

Antonelli's race engineer, Peter Bonnington, known as Bono, said: "You need to go down to the far end, the podium is down that way, mate. We will see you up there."

Reacting in the comments section, one fan said: "That’s a nice problem to have!"

Another commented: "He seems so sweet."

A third fan added: "I just love him!"

Someone else said: "He'll soon win a championship if he is paired with the right car."

A fifth wrote: "Clean, sharp, smart driver. Love him so much. He needs to find out where these podiums are for future wins."

Speaking after the race, Antonelli said: "I was just hoping for the race to finish, to be honest. I was even looking at the screen counting the laps because it was very stressful.

"In the last stint, I pushed a bit too hard behind Max and eventually degraded the front left. The last few laps were a struggle, especially seeing Oscar getting closer and closer in the DRS range. At one point, he even tried to attempt the overtake in turn one. It took a lot of effort."

He added: "It’s obviously a great feeling to be the next Italian on the podium after such a long time. Now the next goal is to win, to bring Italy back on top."
