Formula 1 fans have been reacting on social media after seeing what an axed driver posted on social media.

Ahead of the 2025 season, there were many changes on the grid, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, Nico Hulkenberg and Liam Lawson all swapping teams.

So far, the McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have dominated the campaign as they remain ahead of reigning world champion Max Verstappen.

Ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, one driver who was axed before 2025 has got fans talking.

Taking to social media, former Mercedes star, Valtteri Bottas, posted a video of him checking out a Cadillac road car, with a caption that read: "Do we like this seat?"

Checking out the Cadillac SUV, Bottas, who was dropped by Kick Sauber prior to 2025, said: "Oh wow, that’s actually a nice seat. I wouldn’t mind."

When told there are two seats at the front of the car, Bottas added: "And they are both free?"

The Finn was then asked whether he would like to sit in the driver's seat, he replied: "Hmm. Not yet."

Cadillac will enter the F1 world in 2026 and their driver line-up is yet to be announced, with the likes of Bottas, Sergio Perez and Mick Schumacher all linked with the new team.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "If this is not a confirmation I dont know what it is. LOL."

Another tweeted: "Not yet?? COME ON BOTTAS."

A third fan added: "That's genius "not yet". But i would imagine only the announcement is missing."

Someone else wrote: "Very subtle, Valtteri. Very subtle."

A fifth commented: "Bottas to Cadillac: confirmed."

Another fan added: "Lmao that's one way to announce it, congrats!!"

Prior to the 2025 season, Bottas returned to Mercedes as the team's reserve driver.

He said at the time: "It’s been really straightforward in terms of starting to work with the team again. So, no surprises there.

"I think I said it before. Ideally, I would be up on the grid racing, I hope that could be possible for next season. But for now, obviously, here to work with the team and trying to be as useful as I can. And then we take it kind of month by month, and we see what happens."
