Charles Leclerc's has commented on his chances of winning the 2025 Formula One title amid rumours he could leave Ferrari in the near future.

On Friday, the final quarter of the 2025 Formula One season will get underway as the United States Grand Prix takes place at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.

With both Saturday's sprint and Sunday's main race offering points, the results from the weekend could prove to be decisive in the exciting battle for the 2025 F1 Drivers' Championship.

As it stands, Oscar Piastri sits top of the table with 336 points while McLaren teammate Lando Norris, his main title rival, second in the standings with 314 points, with Max Verstappen behind on 273 points, giving him an outside chance of retaining his title.

Despite his lacklustre season thus far, it remains possible that Ferrari star Leclerc could instead win the title this season, a fact that clearly isn't lost on the Monegasque driver.

Ahead of the United States GP, it technically remains mathematically possible for five drivers to win the Championship, should results go their way.

But for Leclerc, who is currently fifth on the table with a total of 173 points, he would need a pretty spectacular series of events to take place if he were to come away as champion.

To do so, the 27-year-old would need to win all remaining races and sprints with someone other than his title rivals finishing 2nd.

Not only this, but both Norris and Piastri would need to fail to score another point for the remainder of the season while Verstappen would have at least three DNFs.

In this scenario, Leclerc would finish the season on 347 points, 11 ahead of Piastri and Verstappen while boasting a lead of 14 points over Mercedes driver George Russell and a huge 33 point advantage over Norris.

However, that didn't stop the official Formula One Instagram account from sharing a post pointing out that there are still five drivers in with a chance of claiming this year's title.

Commenting on the post, the Ferrari driver jokingly wrote: "Let’s go babyyyyyyy."

Leclerc linked with surprise move away from Ferrari

Although Leclerc's comment is clearly tongue-in-cheek, it reflects the dismal feeling surrounding Ferrari and their title hopes at the moment.

Because of this, recent rumours have suggested that the Monegasque driver could be considering making a move elsewhere in the near future after his manager, Nicolas Todt, admitted that Leclerc wants to race in a car that can compete for word titles.

Told told the Strait Times: “A lot of drivers are waiting to see how well each team will have worked, and how good their car will be to say ‘I want to stay in my team’ or ‘I want to go to another team because they are doing a better job'.

"Charles is one of the best talent of his generation, with Max and a few of the drivers.

"He’s not a baby any more because he has done a lot of seasons with Ferrari and of course, I think that we still need to have a winning car."
