Luke Littler Opens Up on Surgery to Fix Condition Amid World Championship Run

Luke Littler has revealed he had surgery to fix an issue ahead of his clash against Mensur Suljovic at the World Darts Championship.

Littler opened his World Darts Championship campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Poland's Darius Labanauskas.

And he secured another whitewash victory in the second round, beating Wales' David Davies.

The 18-year-old faces Suljovic, who has been accused of cheating at this year's tournament, for a spot in the next round.

Ahead of resuming the defence of his championship, the teenage phenom has opened up on having surgery when he was a child.

Littler was sent to Warrington hospital as a child to repair strabismus, a condition commonly known as cross eye, where the eyes do not align.

The operation was backed by his parents and it has paid off given he now has treble-20 vision and is the No.1 darts player in the world.

"I think it’s called Bog Eye - when you’ve got one normal eye. I think that’s the last time I was in that hospital, when I was four or five. Obviously got it sorted," he revealed, speaking for the first time about his eye operation.

"I don’t have any memories of it now. But obviously it had to be done. And it got done.

"My mum and dad wanted that sorted. When I was younger, I didn’t really care. But now you look at it, obviously it was a good thing to get done."

Littler added: "Your eyes are really important. There are pictures that me and my family put online (from that time).

"I was very tired at the time, obviously resting. But yeah, now we’re all good.

"It’s my home-town hospital. They do an unbelievable job down there so I think it’s really important to go and support them when I can."

Littler has enjoyed a scintillating year, having won multiple major titles, including the 2025 World Darts Championship, the World Matchplay, the World Grand Prix, the UK Open and the Grand Slam of Darts - becoming the PDC world No.1 in the process.

He's aiming to become the first player since 2016 to win back-to-back world titles.
