A darts star has called out Joey Barton to a fight after his supposed disparaging comments about the sport.
Luke Littler grabbed the headlines from Monday's World Darts Championship evening session after he hit back at the Ally Pally crowd for booing him during his clash against Rob Cross.
Speaking on stage after his win, he exclaimed: "Am I bothered? Really, am I bothered?! Really not bothered!
"Can I just say one thing? You guys pay for the tickets and you pay for my prize money so thank you, thank you for my money! Thank you for booing me. Thank you - come on!"

Reacting to a clip of Littler's rant, the official X account of Common Sense with Joey Barton posted a tweet claiming darts is a 'pub game' played by 'overweight smelly men'.

On X, the page wrote: "Darts is only a pub game anyway, it's just a pantomine sport. Overweight smelly men dressed in Hawaiian shirts coming out WWE style to cheesy songs throwing metal pins at a round board isn't a real sport is it. Little is just playing the panto baddy here that's all."
Former Premier League midfielder Barton later clarified the comments, claiming he wasn't responsible for the damning post.
"Not me that said that mate," he wrote on X. "It’s the admin from @Common_SensePod as its states in bio! I respect the Darts. Top skill."
But that didn't stop Gerwyn Price from calling out Barton to a fight.
He issued a message to Barton, telling him to put his gloves on for a dust-up.

On his Instagram story, he tagged both Jake Paul, who suffered a knockout defeat against Anthony Joshua earlier this month, and Barton, writing "Never mind @jakepaul, @joey7bartonofficial get ya gloves on I'll show you how overweight players are."
Price was eliminated from the World Darts Championship following his second round defeat to Wesley Plaisier.
