Gerwyn Price makes explosive claim about Luke Littler and Luke Humphries and their relationship behind the scenes

Gerwyn Price shared his thoughts on England's elimination from the World Cup of Darts.

Gerwyn Price has made a sensational claim about Luke Littler and Luke Humphries and their relationship behind the scenes at the World Cup of Darts.

England, who were represented by Littler and Humphries, were the pre-tournament favourites for the World Cup of Darts.

But they suffered a crushing elimination at the hands of German duo Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko in the last 16.

The world's top two players slipped to an 8-4 second round defeat in Frankfurt.

Northern Ireland went onto win the World Cup of Darts, beating Wales 10-9 in a thrilling showdown in Sunday's final.

Daryl Gurney and Josh Rock were in tears after overcoming Welsh pair Price and Jonny Clayton.

Speaking after the game, Price reflected on the World Cup of Darts and took aim at England, claiming Littler and Humphries didn't have the 'connection'.

"I think you need a connection, I think you need to have that camaraderie off the stage and have that connection," he told Darts Now.

"When we all turned up - and I’m not just saying this because they lost - the only two players who didn’t turn up together, didn’t sit together, didn’t play as a team... I’m not saying who they are, but they didn’t win their first game," he said, referencing England.

Price added: "You need it. You need to turn up as a team, practice together, sit together, it’s a team ethic and it didn’t show with England and it showed on the board.

"They’re great players individually, but you need to be a team. You need that team ethic, you need to be together as a team all the way though, but it didn’t happen.

"I wanted them to do well but they didn’t. I’m not just saying that, I wanted them to do well but they were rubbish."

There has been talk that Littler and Humphries' relationship was frosty.

But 'Cool Hand Luke' dismissed those claims, revealing they get on really well despite their rivalry.

"I love him to be honest, I think Luke is fantastic," he said last December.

"I get on really well with him. A lot of media outlets paint a different picture, me and Luke Litter are fanatic friends. We get along really well."
