Darts star Gerwyn Price has cryptically addressed the reasons for his withdrawal from the Darts World Cup.
Price was set to represent Wales alongside Jonny Clayton but pulled out this week. Nick Kenny will take his place but Price's absence means Wales will drop from third seed to seventh.
The PDC World Cup of Darts is an annual pairs event that will take place in Germany over four days in June. Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney will defend the title they won last year for Northern Ireland.
World number eight Price made himself unavailable for selection for the losing 2025 finalists, leading to speculation that his withdrawal was connected to his comments after he was beaten by Clayton in Premier League action last week.

"My focus is there, it's just health-wise I am not in a great place at the moment. But I am battling on and searching for some results," he said in Leeds.
"Hopefully in the next couple of weeks they will come and they will put me at ease. Then I will be able to enjoy darts again. Frustrating times.
"This year has been great in the Premier League and it's been a great start to the season. The crowd has got me through a lot of games but sometimes things happen you can't control."
But Price has now moved to quieten the assumption that his World Cup plans were ended by health concerns, revealing on Instagram Stories that his health is not behind the decision.
"Just to clarify, I have NOT withdrawn from the World Cup because of health reasons," he posted, clarifying little.
England are the 2026 favourites
Having dropped out of the top four, Clayton and Kenny will need to win a first round match to progress in Frankfurt next month.
England's pairing of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, respectively the world number one and two, are the World Cup favourites and top seed.
2026 will be the 17th World Cup of Darts and five of the previous 16 were won by England, most recently in 2024 when Humphries teamed up with Michael Smith.
Price and Clayton are two-time World Cup winners for Wales. Price has also been beaten in three finals, twice with Clayton.
