Cameron Menzies has risked a hefty punishment by using an offensive gesture during his European Championship second-round defeat against Gerwyn Price.
Menzies was knocked out of the competition in Dortmund, Germany, on Saturday (October 24), losing 10-4 to the ‘Ice Man’, who will face either Kim Huybrechts or Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals.
While Price will no doubt be looking forward to his next match, Menzies may be regretting what he did towards the cameras during the match.
During the clash, Menzies displayed a middle-finger gesture towards the camera, forcing the ITV commentary team to apologise.

How could Cameron Menzies be punished?
The 37-year-old’s actions may see him punished by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) under Rule 3.14 of the DRA Rule Book: “Players must not use offensive language or ‘mouth’ any offensive language or be seen to be making offensive gestures.”
Each punishment is determined on an individual basis, with a fine being the most likely sanction.
This comes just months after Menzies lost control of his temper following his first-round defeat to Charles Manby at last year’s World Championship.
After punching a table, he required medical treatment for hand injuries, with fans expressing concern for him after the out-of-character incident. Menzies later explained how he’d ‘lost feeling’ in his fingers and underwent surgery for his injuries.
Earlier this week, Menzies addressed the outburst and said: “Unfortunately, it is going to stay with me for the rest of my life.”
“I want a conversation and not to talk about these obstacles,” Menzies said.
“That would be my aim. I’d like to talk and not be the guy who made the mistakes like (punching) the table.
“I can name a few. I am not proud of it, and unfortunately it is going to stay with me for the rest of my life.
“But I’m in a lucky situation to be a darts player. There are kids on the Challenge Tour who will take my place. I am lucky to be here.”
The European Championship continues over the weekend, with Luke Littler progressing to the second round with a 6-3 victory over William O’Connor on Friday (October 23).
The teenager returns to action against Nathan Aspinall later this evening.
