Chelsea And Manchester City Reach Agreement On Fee For Raheem Sterling Transfer

According to new information on Wednesday, Chelsea and Manchester City have now reached an agreement on a fee for Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea and Manchester City are now closing in on the completion of a deal for Raheem Sterling, according to a new report on Wednesday.

Interest from the part of the Stamford Bridge club has been prevalent for a number of weeks now.

Following the new takeover fronted by co-owner Todd Boehly, there became a very quick understanding across the game that the Manchester City forward was the club's number one target in the attacking positions.

With Sterling having just one year remaining on his current Etihad deal, the player is seemingly in a position of power as he sought out options this summer.

However, his options were somewhat limited, as previous interest from Spain failed to arise.

That left Chelsea from the Premier League - who have pursued the services of the player intensely over the past few weeks, and are now reportedly closing in on a total agreement.

According to the Independent, Chelsea are now 'down to the final details' of an initial £45 million move for Manchester City's Raheem Sterling.

Such is the advanced nature of talks between the relevant parties that it is reported that the England international is now expected to go on Chelsea's pre-season tour to the United States later this month.

Raheem Sterling himself is reportedly 'comfortable' with the terms proposed by Chelsea, and is 'excited' about a move back to London with Thomas Tuchel's side.

While the deal is claimed to be worth an initial transfer fee of £45 million, The Independent report that a further £10 million in potential add-ons could take the deal up to a total of £55 million.

Sterling is set to follow in the footsteps of Gabriel Jesus - who completed a move to Arsenal earlier this week.

The Brazilian international made his intentions clear to Manchester City in regards to moving on from Pep Guardiola's project, after concerns over game time came about following the signings of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

City will be hoping that should a sale of Sterling come about in the next few days, that it will be their final high-profile sale of the summer.

However, Chelsea retain an interest in centre-back Nathan Ake.

The Dutchman - who was a former player at Stamford Bridge earlier in his career - could be taken away from Manchester City for a fee in the region of £50 million.

Even then, City officials have made it clear to Chelsea that they would still want a replacement for the defender lined up, thus stalling the progress of a deal.
