Pep Guardiola has failed to rule out the possibility of Manchester City completing any late transfer business.

The summer transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Thursday, with the Premier League Champions having seemingly completed all their business.

Despite continued speculation surrounding the future of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, the Portuguese superstar is expected the remain at the Etihad Stadium.

Barcelona have been heavily linked with the 28 year-old, while PSG have also shown interest in the four time Premier League winner - reportedly seeing a bid for Bernardo Silva rejected earlier this month.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has maintained a clear stance on the 28 year-old future, and has admitted that he will be pleased to see the closure of the window later this week, followings weeks of intense transfer talk.

"With Bernardo I said many times how important he is for us. Just one, two days finally the window will be over and everyone will be focussed on what we have to do," said the Catalan.

It has been a busy summer for the Sky Blues, who have seen numerous incomings and outgoings over the course of the past three months.

Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez and Stefan Ortega have all completed moves to the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland, who signed from Borussia Dortmund, has had an impressive start to life in England, scoring six goals in four Premier League meetings.

Guardiola has also seen a host of departures; with Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Raheem Sterling all signing for Premier League rivals.

Currently, City are grappling with a small injury crisis, with Aymeric Laporte, Jack Grealish, Nathan Ake and Kalvin Phillips all currently sidelined due to injury.

Despite the injuries, City had seen set on not signing any further reinforcements, although Guardiola was unable to rule out City completing any more transfer business prior to Thursday.

"I don't know what will happen," admitted the City manager on Tuesday, ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.

Forest travel to East Manchester in midweek, with the Premier League Champions looking to close the gap on early pacesetters Arsenal.

It has since emerged that City are closing in on signing a new centre-back, amid the absence of Laporte and Ake.

The Sky Blues are widely claimed to be set to sign Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund, in a proposed €17.5 million deal.

The Athletic report that the Premier League Champions are close to an agreement for the 27 year-old.

The Blues came from 2-0 down on Saturday against Crystal Palace, winning 4-2 courtesy of second-half goals from Bernardo Silva and a hat-trick from Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian added to his goals against West Ham and Newcastle with his first goals at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Haaland scored three goals in the second-half, as City ended a surprise winless run against the Eagles.
