Details Of Oleksandr Zinchenko's 'Incredibly Emotional' Manchester City Farewell Revealed

Oleksandr Zinchenko left Manchester City to join Arsenal earlier last week, but gave his teammates an 'incredibly emotional' exit speech.

Since Oleksandr Zinchenko’s move to Manchester City in 2016, he has clearly emerged as strong fan favourite over the years.

Despite often slipping under the radar amongst an array of superstars, the Ukrainian’s commitment to the cause and unbridled passion have made the supporters fall in love with him from day one.

While the versatile midfielder has been on the cusp of an exit season after season, the player’s resilience to fight for his place, prove his worth and reclaim his place back into the side has commanded a ton of respect.

However, Zinchenko decided to put this pattern to an end by deciding to finally bid adieu to City in favour of a move to Arsenal.

It has widely been reported that the Sky Blues had also decided to let the 25-year-old leave as early as in May.

Several claims have suggested that the four-time Premier League champion was keen on a summer exit for two primary reasons.

Firstly, the in-demand left-back was looking for regular starting minutes, considering he has largely been an understudy in East Manchester.

Secondly, it was reported that the Ukrainian international was interested in the possibility of operating in midfield, which was virtually impossible at City.

As Zinchenko is no longer a City player, a new revelation has given an insight into emotional farewell.

According to a report by journalist Rob Pollard of City’s official website, Zinchenko had booked a flight on July 19th to join Arsenal the following day at their pre-season training camp in Florida.

On the same day, a farewell interview was conducted with the most decorated Ukrainian player in Premier League history.

After the interview came to an end, Zinchenko went around the room to give all the staff a hug in a moment described as ‘incredibly emotional'.

This transpired right after one of the dressing room’s most well-liked figures over the years had said goodbye to his fellow teammates.

Winning nine major trophies during his time at the Etihad Stadium, the multifaceted operator has played a major role in Manchester City’s success during the Pep Guardiola era.

As both the supporters and fans continue to mourn his departure, Zinchenko joins Arsenal with his legacy etched as a cult hero in City folklore.

I'm sure when the Gunners visit East Manchester, Zinchenko - alongside Gabriel Jesus - will receive a warm welcome from the Etihad faithful.

After all, it seems like he was extremely upset to leave the club behind.
