Chelsea And Manchester City Advance In Talks For Nathan Ake Transfer

Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City have now advanced in talks over the transfer of Nathan Ake this summer.

Chelsea and Manchester City have now accelerated their talks over the potential transfer of Nathan Ake, a new report has detailed.

The two Premier League giants have been locked in talks throughout the summer transfer window.

However, conversations surrounding interest from the London club in Raheem Sterling are now reaching their conclusion.

The England international forward is expected to bring an end to his seven-year Manchester City stay by joining Chelsea in a £45 million deal, that could rise to £55 million through add-ons.

But interest from Chelsea in another of Manchester City's first-team stars is beginning to edge closer towards a final decision.

This interest concerns Nathan Ake.

The Dutch international central defender has emerged as a primary target for the London club's new owners, as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his rearguard following departures in the position this summer.

A new report on Thursday night has now revealed that talks between the two relevant parties have reached an advanced stage.

According to the information of The Times newspaper, Chelsea are now in 'advanced talks' with Manchester City over a deal to re-sign Nathan Aké.

The report details that talks between the two clubs over a transfer for the Holland centre back have 'accelerated' over the past few days.

As for the player, it is claimed that the 27 year-old is open to a return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

While it is reaffirmed that a deal has yet to be agreed between the parties, Chelsea and Manchester City have held what have been described as 'serious talks' over a transfer fee.

Personal terms have also been discussed, according to The Times.

Nathan Ake is currently fourth choice centre-back at the Etihad Stadium, sitting behind all of Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Aymeric Laporte in Pep Guardiola's pecking order.

However, a more consistent place in a top level Premier League could significantly boost his hopes of starting for the Netherlands at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

From the part of Manchester City, there are a number of parameters that would need to be ironed out before any deal can be completed.

City officials have been clear that they are seeking a fee in the region of £50 million, whilst they would also require a replacement to come in before the window closes.

Updates on either of the aforementioned factors have not come to light, although developments could be seen in the coming days.
