Confirmed Manchester City Squad For Pre-Season Tour Of USA

Manchester City have announced their 26-man travelling squad for pre-season friendlies against Club America and Bayern Munich in the USA.

Manchester City have confirmed their travelling squad for an upcoming tour of the United States.

City, who won their fourth Premier League title in five years after an epic comeback win over Aston Villa on the final day of the campaign, are beginning preparations for a hat-trick of titles under Pep Guardiola

The Sky Blues are to begin their title defence next month away to West Ham at the London Stadium, but head to the US for their first international pre-season tour since the COVID-19 pandemic this week.

Guardiola’s side head stateside for two friendlies.

The Premier League Champions face Mexican outfit Club America at the NRG Stadium in Texas on Wednesday 20th July, before coming up against Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich in the USA Cup at the famous Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday 23rd July.

City’s new summer recruits are also amongst the travelling squad, with Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega travelling to the US with the Premier League Champions.

Phil Foden, John Stones, and Ilkay Gundogan have not travelled to the US, with the trio reported to be travelling elsewhere in Europe for pre-season with the Manchester City U23s.

Aymeric Laporte is also absent from the travelling squad.

The Athletic reported on Saturday that Gundogan's absence was due to the German's Coronavirus vaccination status, with the 31 year-old catching the virus in June, preventing him from getting his second vaccine.
