Manchester City take on Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, as they look to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2022/23 season.

Pep Guardiola's side could not be coming in to this fixture any higher on confidence.

Their last outing saw them secure another three points in a perfect start to their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.

A first-half brace from Erling Haaland was added to by an own goal from Copenhagen, setting Manchester City firmly on their way to a 5-0 win on Wednesday night.

Julian Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez also got on the scoresheet, as the pair scored goals that would certainly grant them the confidence needed to pursue more consistent game time under Pep Guardiola this season.

Last time out in the Premier League however, Manchester City cruised to victory in the derby, defeating Manchester United 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

While the scoreline certainly flatters the visitors, it was a dominant performance from Pep Guardiola's squad, who lead the game 6-1 at one stage as Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored a hat-trick each.

Southampton on the other hand, have had very different fortunes, and are playing to save their manager.

Currently sitting 16th in the Premier League, and with just two wins to their name, Saturday's clash with Manchester City could not come at a worse time for the Saints.

Ahead of kick-off, both managers have now confirmed their respective starting line-ups!
