Manchester City's Kyle Walker admits wanting to take skills of Liverpool, Newcastle, and Southampton stars

Manchester City's Kyle Walker admits wanting to take skills of Liverpool, Newcastle, and Southampton stars

Kyle Walker has admitted to wanting to develop one aspect of his game and take on the abilities of three Premier League rivals.

Manchester City and England full-back Kyle Walker has admitted to wanting to take one particular aspect of three Premier League rivals' games, as part of a new interview.

The veteran defender has linked up with Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad this week, ahead of the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Despite strong concern over his fitness, Walker has managed to recover just in time to return to full training with his England teammates.

The Manchester City defender had been ruled out of action since early October, after he underwent surgery on a groin problem sustained in the 6-3 win over Manchester United.

In the run-up to the start of the tournament next week, several England stars will take part in media duties to further drum up the excitement ahead of the main event.

Speaking to the official England international website this week, the 32 year-old right-back was asked what one part of his international team-mate's game he would take.

In response, the Manchester City defender revealed, "Trent (Alexander-Arnold), (Kieran) Trippier or (James) Ward-Prowse’s delivery of a football.

"They are unique players in that they can put it on a six-pence. Nine times out of ten it leads to a goal."

Along the same subject, Kyle Walker was also asked what part of his game he would improve today.

"Providing more assists," the former Tottenham defender admitted.

"I would like to get a little bit further forward and get the balls into the box a little bit more."

He continued, "My position at (Manchester) City is more for the transitions than setting up goals. We are very fortunate that we have a lot of players who can set up goals, without me going up there, but if I could add that to my game then I would be right up there."

Elsewhere, Manchester City are expected to take part in a warm weather training camp in Abu Dhabi next month.

It is widely understood that the first-team players not involved in the World Cup by that stage will return to Pep Guardiola's squad for training from December 5.

The club will use this as an opportunity to also meet up with the business' owner, Sheikh Mansour.

Additionally, there is a feeling that head coach Pep Guardiola could also combine the trip with crunch talks over his Etihad Stadium future, as his contract expires at the end of the ongoing season.
