Kalvin Phillips Photographed In Manchester City Gear Ahead Of Medical

Kalvin Phillips has been photographed arriving at Manchester City on Friday ahead of completing his move from Leeds United.

It was reported on Thursday that the England international had returned from his holiday to complete the remaining details of his £42 million transfer from Elland Road.

The potential for a further £3 million in bonuses and performance-related add-ons could take the overall expense of the deal to £45 million for Manchester City.

On Friday, Phillips is set to undergo his Manchester City medical tests before taking part in the various club media activities as part of the official unveiling to supporters - which could come as early as next week.

Arriving at Manchester City on Friday afternoon, Kalvin Phillips has been photographed in the club's official leisurewear, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Kalvin Phillips is expected to become Manchester City's third signing of the summer transfer window.

The Leeds United star is replacing Fernandinho - who departed the club upon the expiry of his contract.

While competition for places is rife across the Manchester City squad, Phillips will largely be competing for a place in Pep Guardiola's squad with Spanish international Rodri.

While Kalvin Phillips will no doubt have not been short of potential suitors this summer, it is widely understood that his priority was always Manchester City.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, the likes of Aston Villa, West Ham, and Newcastle all showed an interest in the Leeds United man, but have been beaten to his signature by Etihad officials.

It is also known that the boyhood Elland Road supporter totally ruled out the possibility of joining bitter rivals Manchester United, to keep his relationship with his lifelong club healthy.

In Europe, Paris Saint-Germain also made contact with Leeds United officials to understand the availability of the player, but his interest in working under manager Pep Guardiola was too much for the Ligue 1 club.

Kalvin Phillips had interest from other #PL clubs and last week, Leeds United had a call from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the only side Phillips would entertain moving to from his hometown club was #ManCity, according to insiders.

Earlier on Friday, the Premier League champions announced the arrival of 29 year-old German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Joining Manchester City on a free transfer from Bundesliga 2 side Arminia Bielefeld, Ortega is set to become the club's new number two goalkeeper replacing Zack Steffen.
