Amid ongoing talk and transfer links to several of Europe's premier clubs, a new update on the Manchester City future of Gabriel Jesus has emerged this week, with his next destination narrowed down significantly.

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup now only a matter of months away, some of Manchester City fringe players with international duties at the forefront of their minds will be looking to secure regular game time during the opening months of the 2022/23 season, in order to ensure their place in Qatar with their respective nations.

One such name is Gabriel Jesus, who struggled for a consistent run of games under Pep Guardiola last season, and momentarily lost his place in the Brazilian national team.

With time running out for the former Palmeiras man to all but book his ticket with Brazil for the Qatar World Cup, Gabriel Jesus is one of the most likely names to find a route through the Manchester City exit door this summer, and the list of clubs he could head to has now been cut down significantly thanks to a major update this week.

According to the information of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gabriel Jesus will be leaving Manchester City in the coming weeks and months, however his next destination will be in the Premier League.

This will likely come as a major blow to the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, as well as potential suitors in Italy, who are understood to have been in contact with Gabriel Jesus' representatives ever since knowledge of his intended City exit emerged from the player's camp.

As for teams in the English top-flight who are most likely to be interested, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal will likely be at the front of the queue, given Jesus' history with the Gunners boss and the club's director Edu Gaspar having a Brazilian connection to aid him in negotiations with the player's entourage.

Other likely interested parties will include Tottenham and Chelsea - both of whom will likely use their advantage of having Champions League football to play for next season as a significant negotiating tactic with Gabriel Jesus' team in the coming weeks and months ahead.
