Erling Haaland Goes Head-To-Head With Manchester United Transfer Target For New Home

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is reportedly going head-to-head with one of Manchester United's primary transfer targets this summer.

The Norway international completed a move to the Etihad Stadium last month, in a £51 million move from Borussia Dortmund.

While Haaland continues to enjoy the final few days of his summer holidays, his family and representatives are hard at work liaising with the player in the search for a new residence in the Manchester region.

Although some of Pep Guardiola's players reside in the city centre, many opt to live a more private and relaxed lifestyle in Cheshire.

The likes of Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Aymeric Laporte, and Ruben Dias all live in high-rise properties in Manchester city centre.

However, superstars including Ederson, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, and Riyad Mahrez have opted to live in large homes in the south of Manchester.

For Erling Haaland, his search for a new home has put him in direct competition with one of Manchester United's primary transfer targets - Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie De Jong.

According to a report from The Daily Mirror, Haaland and De Jong have both got their eyes set on the purchase of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's home - the former player and manager of Manchester United.

However, it seems as though it is Manchester City who may come out on top in this battle.

A source is quoted as telling The Mirror, “Both players have got their people looking."

"Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) has rented his place out in the past, but he moved back in when he got the (Manchester) United job."

“Now he’s left United it’s free again."

The source continued, "(Frenkie) De Jong’s team contacted Ole about renting the place, but he told them (Erling) Haaland has got first option, if he wants it.”

According to the report, representatives of the Manchester City striker have looked at in excess of three other properties in the region, including the home of now-former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba.

Erling Haaland is expected to report for his first Manchester City training session of pre-season in the coming days.

Pep Guardiola's squad are expected to return to the City Football Academy on July 11th, before jetting off for the United States for their pre-season tour shortly after.

Haaland - along with Manchester City's other summer signings, including Kalvin Phillips - will be presented to the clubs fanbase next Sunday, in a glamorous unveiling event at the Etihad Stadium.
