Since his arrival in the summer of 2017, Ederson has cemented his reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Originally brought in as a potential upgrade on Claudio Bravo, the Brazilian very quickly proved during his time at Manchester City that he was the archetypal Pep Guardiola number one.

The former Benfica shot-stopper possesses an incredible range of passing, which plays a key role in the Sky Blues’ build-up from back to front, while also being one of finest sweeper keepers around for half a decade.

Ederson’s coup was such an instrumental one in Pep Guardiola’s project at the club, that his arrival has coincided with the side lifting four out of the last five Premier League titles.

Winning the last three consecutive Golden Glove awards as well, the 29-year-old has quietly been one of the side’s most consistent players during a golden era for the club.

While one can go on and on about how the former Rio Ave man has elevated the Sky Blues, he revealed what he has learned from his time at Etihad Stadium so far.

“Time flies. I grew a lot in my time at Manchester City, not only as a player, but as a person too," he expressed in an interview with the club.

The decorated goalkeeper continued, “I feel more mature now. Every day is a learning experience.

"Every day I try to learn something new and develop. The recipe is to work hard, help my teammates and help the team.

"I honestly feel very happy. I feel very fulfilled here in this club that experienced huge growth in the last few years.

"You can tell from the number of trophies we have won.

"But we are always searching for more, always trying to improve ourselves and working hard every day.

"The Premier League is a fascinating championship.

"I know how difficult it is to play in this league, every game is tough, all the games are very intense.”

Signing a brand-new contract until the summer of 2026 just last September, it is clear to see that he is content with life in East Manchester.

Starting the 2022/23 season in fine fashion, Ederson is widely expected to have yet another superb campaign as he continues to etch an impactful legacy at the club.
