Manchester City completed their tour of the US with a 1-0 victory over German champions, Bayern Munich on Saturday night.

Erling Haaland was the star of the show, scoring his first City goal just 12 minutes into his debut.

At a wet and windy Lambeau Field, the game only ended up lasting 80 minutes, with weather warnings in the Green Bay area forcing multiple delays to proceedings.

The Blues will now return to England in preparation for next Saturday's FA Community Shield with Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

Pep Guardiola handed Erling Haaland his first-ever City appearance from the start, with Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez supporting him from the flanks.

Behind the Norway international was the usual trio of Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva - who have enjoyed the vast majority of action in pre-season.

Ruben Dias returned to the backline after illness and was joined by Nathan Aké, Joao Cancelo and Josh Wilson-Esbrand - with Ederson replacing Stefan Ortega in goal.

From kick-off, City were harassing the Bayern with constant pressing and forcing their backline into mistakes.

De Bruyne had the first opportunity of the game, flashing the ball across Manuel Neuer's goal and narrowly wide. Moments later, Grealish had the ball in a similar position, but could only find the side-netting.

The German champions were looking to utilise their explosive pace in-behind, and had the ball in the net through Serge Gnabry on seven minutes, but the offside flag went up after a slight delay.

Then, the moment all City fans have been waiting for - Erling Haaland's first City goal.

After a City free-kick, the ball broke to De Bruyne. The Belgian slipped in Grealish, who with an immaculate first touch, slid the ball across for Haaland to tap home.

Just like before the game, that goal signalled another delay to proceedings, with weather warnings in the area forcing supporters to evacuate the stadium.

When the players eventually did come back out, Haaland almost raced through for his second, but was denied by an excellent last-ditch challenge.

Rodri was the next City player to be presented with a golden opportunity from a corner, but his free header was deflected behind by Hernandez.

Haaland and Grealish were forming an effective combination and the former - via a deflection - hit a low shot inches wide on the stroke of half-time.

Much to the disappointment of fans on social media, Haaland was taken off at the break, but his replacement almost made an instant impact.

After some quick thinking from a throw-in, Julian Alvarez used his burst of pace to break away from the Bayern Munich defender and fire a shot across the face of goal.

Wilson-Esbrand - who was impressive all evening - also went close with a left-footed strike.

City were creating chance after chance, but just could not find that elusive second goal. De Bruyne's lightening break allowed Mahrez to sting the 'keepers palms, while Alvarez hit a first-time volley sailed miles over the crossbar.

Despite these wasted efforts, Bayern could not force their way past Ederson and Haaland's lone goal proved to be the difference.
