Tyson Fury defended his WBC heavyweight title after a more than comfortable win over Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.

In what was a largely one-sided contest, Fury dominated from start to finish as Chisora failed to get close to his opponent to land any meaningful punches.

Fury caught Chisora with an uppercut in the second round but was luckily saved by the bell as Fury came in looking to finish his opponent off.

During the third round, another huge shot from Fury landed and Chisora was starting to look shaky on his feet. The defending champion continued to throw multiple combinations but Chisora was still standing strong.

Fury then started to control the proceedings by using a range of jabbing combinations as Chisora continued to struggle to get close. As the rounds ticked by, there was an overriding feeling that the bout will end when Fury wanted it to.

Eventually, the fight was stopped in the 10th round after the referee deemed Chisora not in the right state to continue. Fury has successfully defended his WBC title. It was a truly valiant effort by Chisora but it was not enough as Fury proved to be simply too good.

This was the third time the pair had been in the ring together, their previous two bouts happened in 2011 and 2014. Fury won the first fight by unanimous decision and the second fight was stopped by Chisora’s corner in the tenth round.

After the fight, Fury paid tribute to his opponent, he said: “What a tough man. I was hitting him with shots there that would've knocked anyone else spark out but he stood up to all of them.

“He was calling me a little b***h in there, saying 'you can hit harder than that’.”

Fury added: “I felt good, I needed some rounds as I haven't boxed since April... I felt good in there tonight and felt like I landed my jab and landed some good punches.

“Take nothing away from [Chisora] he's an absolute warrior and an absolute British folk hero. It's been a privilege to fight him three times. We all love Derek Chisora.”
