Ben Askren Gave A Brutally Honest Post-Fight Interview After Getting Knocked Out By Jake Paul

Ben Askren gave a brilliant response when asked about the ridicule he's going to receive following his crushing knockout defeat to Jake Paul.

The YouTuber connected with a huge overhand right that floored Askren with the referee halting the contest.

But the former UFC contender saw the funny side of his defeat, admitting it's "embarrassing" that he lost to Paul and said he deserves the criticism for his showing.

"I got knocked out by Jake Paul. Its f**king embarrassing," he said.

Asked about what's next, the 36-year-old replied: "I don't really give a sh*t. There's some pizza waiting in my hotel room, I'm going to go eat that, I'm going to fly home and hang out with my kids tomorrow."

On his fight, he added: "I heard my coach Mike, he was saying I definitely overreacting to his feints and that was probably the beginning of the end.

"If the ref would've let me grapple a little longer maybe that would've helped, but hey no excuses I got into a boxing match and it didn't go so well.

"I fought as hard as I could, I trained as hard as I could given the fact I was sitting on the couch for 16 months.

"Given the amount of time I got into as good a shape as possible and I took it seriously.

"I was very disciplined in my training. I have no excuses."

Askren also tweeted: "Sorry world :(."

As for Paul, he improves his record to 3-0 with all three victories coming inside the distance.

The 24-year-old has wins over AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson and Askren as his budding boxing career goes from strength to strength.
