Jake Paul sets up replacement fight for Nate Diaz as police issue arrest warrant, fans prefer this instead

Jake Paul sets up replacement fight for Nate Diaz as police issue arrest warrant, fans prefer this instead

Nate Diaz furiously reacted to Jake Paul setting up a replacement opponent.

Jake Paul has set up a blockbuster backup opponent for his upcoming bout against Nate Diaz amid reports of an arrest warrant.

Diaz was embroiled in controversy following Misfits Boxing 6 in New Orleans as he choked a Logan Paul lookalike unconscious in a street fight.

Local police have issued an arrest warrant for the former UFC superstar on suspicion of second-degree battery in wake of the shocking scenes.

The news of the arrest warrant prompted KSI to call out Paul if he is left without an opponent on August 5.

Reacting to the news regarding Diaz, he tweeted: "Well, if that mean Jake won’t have an opponent in August... Then I’ll gladly come as the replacement after I KO Joe Fournier in May."

'The Problem Child' has accepted KSI's offer, claiming there is no rehydration clause while urging him to stay in shape should he be needed

"Great. I accept you as the backup opponent," Paul responded. "Fight is at 185. There are no rehydration clauses. Stay in shape and we will give you a call if needed. Thanks buddy for being so humble and committed."

Fight fans online seem to prefer Paul vs. KSI over Paul vs. Diaz.

One Twitter user wrote: "Please, give us this instead of the Diaz fight."

A second added: "I kinda want the commission to pull Nate so this can come back to memory."

A potential bout between Paul and KSI has been mooted for some time now and could finally come to fruition in August should Diaz be forced to withdraw.

But Paul vs. KSI could happen either way as the Stockton slugger didn't take too kindly to the offer.

On Twitter, he wrote: "Lol why Dont u to scared p**sys just fight each other August. I’ll fight someone who can really fight."

Paul is coming off his first professional defeat following his loss to Tommy Fury.

As for Diaz, he fought out his UFC contract after beating Tony Ferguson. KSI, meanwhile, takes on Joe Fournier on May 13.
