Jake Paul has detailed the diet which helped him hit a career-low weight ahead of Saturday's boxing match with UFC legend Anderson Silva.

The YouTuber will be hoping to extend his professional record to 6-0 inside the Desert Diamond Arena this weekend.

Paul decided to drop down to 187lbs for a clash with Silva, who reigned as UFC middleweight champion for an astonishing 2457 days.

He's been on an intense diet over the last 12 weeks, which he discussed in a recent interview with The Sun.

The 25-year-old went in detail about what he's been putting in his body while explaining why he skips a meal altogether.

"Dinner is like chicken quinoa, steak quinoa, fish, rice, not a lot of carbs," Paul said. "So it’s been a really tough diet coming down to 187lbs. But we’re wanting to do it the right way, where I can wake up on the morning of the weigh-in and have pasta if I want to.

"I weigh like 195 right now, so a lot of fighters could just jump in the sauna but that kills you in the fight, you’ll have nothing left in the fight.

"So we cut weight the right way, ahead of time so I don’t have to sit in the sauna or the steam room and I’ll actually be in that weight."

It's likely to be the toughest test of Paul's career so far, given Silva's previous boxing experience.

'The Spider' is on a two-fight win streak after defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Tito Ortiz last year.

There is a slight doubt over the contest going ahead as of Wednesday.

The Arizona Department of Gaming, which oversees the state's boxing commission, are looking into reports that Silva was knocked out during training recently.

SPORTbible has reached out to representatives for Silva for additional comment.

Paul is yet to fight in 2021, with his last action coming against Tyron Woodley in December.

He was initially set to fight Tommy Fury in the summer, but the half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson was unable to enter the United States.

Hasim Rahman Jr. stepped in as a replacement, which was also called off after he failed to make contracted weight.
