Furious boxing fans believe KSI should've been disqualified after 'illegal move' on Joe Fournier

Furious boxing fans believe KSI should've been disqualified after 'illegal move' on Joe Fournier

KSI knocked Fournier out in round two.

KSI's second-round knockout of Joe Fournier has caused huge controversy online.

The duo went at it in the main event of Misfits 007 at the OVO Arena Wembley on Saturday evening and it was set to be the toughest test of KSI's career.

Fournier has nine professional bouts under his belt while rapper and YouTuber KSI had usually stuck to fellow influencers as opponents.

He managed to come out on top inside two rounds in front of a packed crowd, although how he achieved it is already dividing fans.

The final blow to Fournier appears to have been an illegal elbow from KSI rather than a clean connection from a punch.

Within minutes, 'Elbow' trended on Twitter and viewers were expressing their displeasure at the outcome of the fight.

One person commented: "Elbows are allowed now then I take it?"

A second put: "Dude just won a boxing match with an elbow."

Someone tweeted: "KSI shouldn’t take that win, you can’t elbow someone and knock them out in a boxing ring. Accident or not…"

While a fourth added: "I've never seen a clearer disqualification."

When asked if he did use an elbow on Fournier, KSI was bullish in his response.

He declared: "Nah bro, I hit him with a massive shot and he was dazed, he was scrambling, trying to hold on to me for dear life. I was like, 'Nah, nah, your soul is mine.'"

Earlier in the evening, Tommy Fury caused chaos at ringside after getting into a brawl with fellow Love Island alumni Idris Virgo.

Fury, who is rumoured to be in negotiations for a fight with KSI, confirmed he'd be in attendance earlier in the weekend.

During the conclusion of Anthony Taylor's win over Salt Papi, Fury and Virgo were involved in a physical altercation. It's currently unknown what started the brawl.

Moments after the scuffle, Fury told talkSPORT: "He's just another bum looking for a payday, that's all."

KSI and Fury faced off at the conclusion of the event. Earlier this week, 'TNT' declared: "In my opinion, out of all this influencer boxing stuff, I beat the top of the chain. Jake Paul, I reckon, is the best out of all these. Listen, it is what it is: Easy money, baby."
