Paris Fury Drops Update on Tyson’s Boxing Comeback Amid Anthony Joshua Rumours

Tyson Fury has been rumoured to have a comeback fight against Anthony Joshua

Paris Fury has made her feelings clear about her husband's retirement, following renewed rumours that Tyson Fury could return to fight Anthony Joshua.

The former heavyweight world champion retired from boxing in January, just weeks after suffering a second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury's decision came just days after promoter Eddie Hearn revealed plans for a potential blockbuster fight between Fury and Joshua in the summer of 2025.

However, speculation over an all-British showdown has refused to die down, with promoters claiming it could be "the richest commercial fight" in boxing history.

Yet Frank Warren has claimed Fury's family, including wife Paris and his brothers, may be the biggest obstacle to any return to the ring.

Warren told the BBC: “We’ll wait until next year and we’ll see what happens.

“He’s indicated he wants to fight. The fight he told me he definitely wants to do is Usyk again.

“The fight everybody talks about is obviously (Anthony) Joshua and I have no problem with either provided he wants to fight.

“I know his wife doesn’t want him to fight, his brothers don’t want him to fight. So that’s going to be his choice.

“But if he is going to fight, I’d much rather he does it now rather than come back in three or four years.”

Now, Paris has spoken publicly about her husband's future and made her stance clear.

"Tyson has said he's retired," she said on the Extraordinary Life Stories podcast.

"As it stands at the minute, touch wood, he is sticking to his guns and staying retired."

Fury's manager, Spencer Brown, also addressed whether Fury could make a comeback.

He added: “Will he fight again? My personal opinion, yes. That’s my personal opinion but I’m not Tyson Fury.

“Does his family want him to fight again? Probably no. If you speak to Shane or Hughie, what’s the point? Because they love him dearly.

Brown continued: “I love him dearly but in my opinion he’s got an itch he’s got to scratch, Tyson.

“And, I still think he’s got a bee in his bonnet about Usyk, he’d like to fight him more than anybody.

“And of course there’s a lot of people courting him with serious poke. Serious money.”

Meanwhile, Joshua is yet to fight in 2025, with his last appearance in the ring coming in September 2024, when he lost to Daniel Dubois.

With only a handful of Matchroom events remaining this year, there are few opportunities for Joshua to return this year.

A potential fight in Ghana has been discussed for December, amid speculation that Joshua hopes to stage a bout in Africa before he retires.

The Independent reported that even if a fight between Joshua and Fury is agreed for next year, Joshua is expected to take another fight before then.
