Mike Tyson made a somewhat surprising admission after the former undisputed heavyweight champion was asked to give his prediction for the 2023 fight between Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk.

Dubois and Usyk will go head-to-head for the second time on Saturday night as the Ukrainian champion puts his WBA, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles on the line at Wembley.

Usyk, who became the first undisputed world heavyweight champion in the four belt era when he defeated "The Gypsy King" Tyson Fury on points, remains unbeaten following his rematch victory over Fury in December.

IBF champion Dubois, meanwhile, will be out to avenge his loss against Usyk – almost two years after the Brit suffered a ninth-round stoppage defeat in Poland.

For a split-second it looked like Dubois would be crowned the new heavyweight champion in August 2023, but his huge punch in the fifth round was ruled a low blow by referee Luis Pabon and Usyk was given several minutes to recover.

Ahead of their first bout in 2023, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was asked to give his prediction for the fight between Usyk and Dubois, although his lack of knowledge around the latter's overall game was clear.

Speaking to YouTube channel Pro Boxing Fans, Tyson said: “I never saw Dubois fight. I’m going to stick with the champion."

Daniel Dubois is confident about his chances against Oleksandr Usyk, mentions Mike Tyson

Almost two years on from his defeat to Usyk and Dubois believes he can replicate his convincing win over Anthony Joshua on Saturday night.

"Yeah, turn up the heat, bring the chaos and restore order with victory. And that's what I've got to do," Dubois told reporters on Tuesday. "Whenever they [Usyk's team] put a challenge down, I'm ready for it, wherever it's about to go down, I'm ready for it."

Dubois also believes he will go down as one of the greatest if he pulls off a victory.

"Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson and Rocky [Marciano] and all of those greats that have come and gone," he added. "This fight puts me right up there with all of them to be remembered for all time in history."
