Logan Paul has been called out by boxing fans for a comment he made to Mike Tyson immediately after the heavyweight legend's defeat to his brother Jake.

The younger Paul, 27, defeated Tyson, 58, by unanimous decision in an eight-round heavyweight match at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

All three judges scored the fight in favour of Paul - 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 - after a one-sided contest.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, who now holds a professional record of 11-1, paid tribute to Tyson in the ring immediately after the fight.

"Mike Tyson, it's such an honour. Let's give it up for Mike, the greatest to ever do it. We wouldn't be here without him today with him, this man is an icon," said Paul.

During his own post-fight interview, Tyson was asked by a reporter: "Are you surprised it went the distance?"

To which he replied: "No I knew he was a good fighter, I knew he was prepared but I came to fight."

The reporter then said: "You know, 58, a lot of people thought you shouldn't be here a lot of people thought you'd be done and dusted in the first round, do you feel like you proved the world wrong that you could at least go eight rounds with a younger man?"

To which Tyson replied: "I didn't prove nothing to anybody only to myself I'm not one of those guys that looks to please the world, I'm just happy what I can do."

Tyson then signalled that intended to continue his boxing career, seemingly calling out Jake's older brother Logan who was stood in the ring.

"You got more in you, who crosses the mind?" Tyson was asked, to which he replied: "Oh, I don't know. Maybe his brother" – pointing at Logan.

Logan then commented: "Well f***, I'll kill you Mike."

Paul was immediately criticised for his comment on social media, with former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew accusing him of a lack of respect.

He posted on X: "Why be so disrespectful Logan Paul?? 'I'd kill you' do these idiots understand what the real Mike Tyson would do to them!

"He'd beat them so bad they would beg for him to stop! Saying you'd kill a grandfather is tough isn’t it. I [pray] Mike stays safe."

Boxing fans were also quick to criticise Paul for his comment.

"Logan Paul is the most unlikable person I've ever seen… disrespecting a legend of boxing," posted one unhappy fan.

While another added: "Who the f*** is Logan Paul talking to like that?"

Speaking to the Daily Mail after leaving the ring, Paul said he had no intention of fighting Tyson.

"I f***ing love Uncle Mike he's just so... I mean, that was impressive, no? For a 58-year-old? He's tough, proud of him, weathered the storm against a young brute named Jake Paul. I think Jake let him live," said Logan.

Asked whether he would take the fight against Tyson, he added: "No! I think he wants money, I don't think he wants to fight me."
