Jake Paul has named the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor McGregor in a highly controversial list of the top 10 most overrated athletes.

Since he first stepped into the ring for a fight with fellow YouTuber Deji in Manchester on August 25, 2018, Paul has made a name for himself as one of the most controversial names in boxing.

The 28-year-old has gone on to enjoy a career as a professional, facing off against the likes of Nate Diaz, Tommy Fury and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

He is set to return to the ring against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, the son of a boxing legend who he shares a name with, on June 28.

But ahead of the fight, the influencer-turned-boxer has cased up a stir online by picking some huge names in his list of the most overrated athletes of all time.

Kicking off the list, Paul picked baseball hall of famer Babe Ruth, a player who is considered by almost everyone as the greatest baseball player of all time having won the world series seven times.

After picking American footballer Trevor Lawrence, Paul made sure to upset fans of the most watched sport in the world as he named former Manchester United and Real Madrid legend Ronaldo on his 'overrated' list.

Having claimed five Ballon d'Ors while winning titles across three of the biggest leagues in Europe, Ronaldo is widely seen as one of the greatest footballers of all-time, with potentially only Lionel Messi ahead of him.

Just last weekend, the 40-year-old captained his country to glory in the Nations League final match against Spain, showing that he is still capable of performing at the top of his sport

The American influencer then turned his attention to the world of combat sports, labelling Ryan Garcia and former two-weight UFC champion McGregor as overrated.

Throughout his career, Paul has had online spats with both Garcia and McGregor, who has reportedly been part of talks to fight the influencer on several occasions.

At the top of the highly controversial list, Paul named former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, another name that Paul has been calling out recently following the Brit's knockout loss to current IBF champion Daniel Dubois.

Jake Paul's top 10 overrate athletes list in full:

1 - Anthony Joshua (Boxing)

2 - Tua Tagovailoa (American Football)

3 - Canelo Alvarez (Boxing)

4 - Anthony Edwards (Basketball)

5 - Dak Prescott (American Football)

6 - Conor McGregor (MMA)

7 - Ryan Garcia (Boxing)

8 - Cristiano Ronaldo (Football)

9 - Trevor Lawrence (American Football)

10 - Babe Ruth (Baseball)
