Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn ripped into Deontay Wilder following his shock defeat to Joseph Parker.

Wilder was comprehensively outboxed by Parker in their heavyweight clash on the Day of Reckoning card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.

Parker dominated from start to finish to take the win on points, the three judges scoring it 118-111, 118-110, 120-108 in his favour.

Wilder looked tired and desperate in the closing stages of the fight, at one point attempting illegal hammer punches to the back of his opponent's head.

Wilder was tipped to face Anthony Joshua in his next fight but that bout now looks dead in the water, with the American hinting he could even retire after his defeat to Parker.

"We'll see what happens, we still have a little bit left, but I did a great job managing my money," said Wilder.

"I'm a happy fighter. I'll be back, and if not, then it's been a pleasure. I don't know [if I still have the same fire I used to], a lot has calmed me down.

"I've been wearing this smile all week long and I'mma still wear it. Nothing can stop me on that."

Joshua's promoter Hearn didn't hold back with his opinions on Wilder after his defeat, suggesting his hopes of facing Joshua were now over.

"I'm just going to go and vomit and I'll be back in 20 seconds," Hearn joked to TNT Sports.

"I said in the build-up I don't rate him. Wilder had no idea, no clue. He lost 120-108, lost every round, and he's there at the end putting his hand up saying he's won the fight. He's not right. That's the reality.

ā€œIt was the most one-sided heavyweight fight I've ever seen. It's ruined our plans [for the Anthony Joshua fight].

ā€œWe've got to go back into the changing room and let Joshua know Wilder has just lost to Parker.

ā€œThe future is not Deontay Wilder."
