Floyd Mayweather has detailed exactly why his relationship with 50 Cent broke down - leading to the rapper unleashing an explosive rant.

The pair were once good friends but have butted heads publicly since 2012.

Retired boxing legend Mayweather recently revealed that the dispute came after he refused to give Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, half of his company.

'Fiddy' has since taken to Twitter and told the 43-year-old to keep his mouth shut, while mocking Mayweather's well-documented reading problems.

"I'm not the marketing campaign champ, keep my name out your mouth," he begun. "Damn somebody read this for champ, I don't fuk wit you, you don't fuk wit me. OK."

It comes after Mayweather's recent appearance on the Champside podcast, during which he delved into his relationship with Cent.

Mayweather said: "You can't hang out with me every day for years then all of a sudden if I don't give you half of my company you're like 'you're dumb, you're stupid, you can't do this and you can't do that'.

"But if I can't do all these things, why are you hanging around with me? That's all I'm trying to add.

"If I'm such a person that doesn't know certain things, and I'm not that sharp, why you want to be around with me every day."

Mayweather is known for his flash lifestyle and the Michigan native is reportedly worth over $500 million.

But Cent isn't convinced and he stated back in February that he thinks the money is 'drying up.'

"I think he got to right now because the money's gone," he told Hot 97.

"It's fight, get the money, spend the money, fight.

"With the lifestyle that money's gone. Trust me. Now it's like if you call him he'll be at your local nightclub because he needs that action right now."

Mayweather fired back at these claims in trademark fashion - posting a picture of his loaded shoe closet captioned, "This is just my shoe closet part 1."

A return to boxing could be on the horizon for Mayweather, with a string of exhibition bouts reportedly in the works.
