'Money' hasn't fought since his inter-promotional bout with UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017 but has fueled speculation he could make a return.
The 43-year-old posted a short video showing his skills on Instagram captioned: "Soon I'm going to hop on my jet to Tokyo, Japan for a meeting with my partners and Rizin for something this year 2020.
"Stay tuned @rizin_pr #TMT #mayweatherpromotions."
Mayweather's victory over McGregor took his professional record to 50-0, but he returned for an exhibition bout against Japanese kick boxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year's Eve 2018.

Interstingly, Mayweather has tagged Rizin in the post, the promotion he fought Nasukawa in.
Sparring partner Denis Douglas recently shared footage of himself himself and Mayweather training late at night.
Douglas spoke to Sky Sports about the video and described of the American's relentless nature.
"When we're sleeping, he's working," he began.

"Out of nowhere, he called me at 1am and told me: 'Come to the gym, I want to spar'.
"I was knocked out asleep! But once he hit me up I told him, 'I'll be there right away'.
"I was honoured to get that call. Whether it was at 1am or 4am, I would always go.

"You have to. He is arguably the best ever and definitely the best of my generation.
"When I got to the gym there was only one person there - the person who opened the gym door. When Floyd arrived? He came with 20 people. His security guards, his friends, they all came to watch."
