Novak Djokovic has officially been barred from entering Australia and fans have flocked to social media to have their say on the matter.
Despite controversially being granted a vaccine exemption to play at this year's Australian Open, the world No.1 had his visa cancelled at the final hurdle and will now be put on the first place back to Serbia.

When news first broke of Djokovic's vaccine hall pass, tennis fans and Aussies alike were sent into a frenzy, many left outraged by the decision and even threatened to boycott the event.
But news of this latest backflip has arguably made even bigger headlines, although it seems to have left a bunch of people divided.
While some have heaped praise on the Australian government for standing strong on their vaccine and border policies, others don't appear to see it in the same light and fired shots.
I trust that the Australian government also has the other 15 players who received an exemption captive in an isolated room at the airport also? No, just Novak Djokovic? Odd.

He is not the villain here. #COVID19
Novak Djokovic, Aaron Rodgers and Kyrie Irving are heroes in a world gone completely mad.

Novak Djokovic is a bloody hero.

Stood up for his rights and beliefs. Refused to back down, and the system caved.
People are just pissed off they don't have the same courage of their convictions.
Want a villain? Look at our "leaders".#istandwithnovak
I am no fan of Novak Djokovic and sceptical of the process that granted him a medical exemption. But the fact is, he now has that exemption. There are no grounds to cancel his visa. It is an appalling way to treat anyone. Australia looks like a backward backwater. A bloody farce!

Just proves that Novak Djokovic is BIGGER than tennis and BIGGER than australia.

Novak Djokovic detained in Melbourne :flag_au: airport and interrogated for 6 hours like a terrorist, even though he has medical vaccine exemption as requested. Now he's being denied entry and deported.

This is how we repay Novak Djokovic's generosity to Australia in our darkest days.

:rotating_light: Breaking: Australia :flag_au: denied entry to Novak Djokovic, even though he has recovered from Covid and provided expert opinion for medical vaccine exemption.

This is psychosis on an entirely new scale
Novak Djokovic detained for 6 hours, interrogated, treated like a terrorist, all over a vaccine exemption.
- Paul Joseph Watson (@PrisonPlanet) January 5, 2022
An utter disgrace.
This is our collective future if these bastards have their way.
If they can do this to a multi-millionaire superstar, what are they gonna do to you?
I hate to break it to you angry Australians, but Novak Djokovic wasn't the one who made you spend almost two years in lockdown.

Meanwhile, others poked fun, wasting no time in spitting out some memes which best reflected their thoughts on the tense situation.

Whatever happens as this unfolds here, this is completely Novak Djokovic's fault for not getting the vaccine in the first place, which he had *months* to do.
- Ben Rothenberg (@BenRothenberg) January 5, 2022
Best case scenario for everyone would have been a vaxxed Novak playing the #AusOpen with no drama. He chose against that.
If I was Novak Djokovic, I would simply have taken two doses of the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccinations, then quietly collected my millions of dollars for playing tennis

The important thing to remember about Novak Djokovic being denied entry to Australia after spending a day in the airport thinking he was more important than everyone else is that it is incredibly funny.
