After another rather underwhelming season, the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to bolster their squad - and they've got their eye on one man in particular.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Sixers are interested in trading for James Harden.

The Houston Rockets megastar is one of the most prolific shooters in NBA history and was named the league's Most Valuable Player back in 2018.

But for the eight-time All-Star, a Championship ring still awaits.

Now, though, it appears the Sixers are eyeing what could be one of the biggest trades ever by bringing Harden to Philly - and who knows, it could deliver the city a coveted Championship.

"I'm told Philadelphia is expected to be interested in and pursue James Harden, the Rockets star who Daryl Morey has a history with," Charania said in a video posted on social media.

"But as will other teams also express interest.

"Daryl Morey though has a history of being active on the trade market pursuing the different opportunities that may exist out there and I wouldn't expect it to be any different now he's in Philadelphia."

But it's not all good news for Sixers fans.

While the addition of Harden would undoubtedly add another element to their already-stacked offence, it's believed one high-profile player would have to make way for his arrival.

And it's understood Philadelphia would trade either Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid in order to get their man.

If they were to send Simmons off to Houston, they'd probably have to throw in a couple more players for the Rockets to even contemplate accepting the trade deal.

After all, Harden has been the scoring leader for three seasons throughout his career and offers Championship-level quality - despite never actually winning one himself.

As for Simmons, seeing him line up alongside the likes of Russell Westbrook is an intriguing prospect to say the least.
