Jake Paul's boxing trainer has reportedly been taken to hospital after his penis was bitten by a dog.

According to The Sun, respected coach BJ Flores had his "shaft/head a little scratched up" after a scary encounter with an American Bulldog.

The incident apparently happened at 4am and Flores was rushed to A&E for treatment.

Thankfully the former professional cruiserweight was alright, although you can imagine he was probably in a fair bit of pain.

Flores took to social media to provide an update on his condition, saying: "Talk about terrified, I am fine thank God!

"So whenever you think you're having a bad day... just remember that story about the guy that was in the ER until 4am with a 'penile laceration' from a dog bite.

"Coulda been bad. Just the shaft/head a little scratched up.

"Little f**ker grabbed onto the shaft."

Flores is expected to make a full recovery just in time for his client's return to the ring.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is fresh off the back of an impressive knockout victory over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley which extended his record to 5-0.

The 25-year-old is well and truly in the driver's seat and has a bunch of the biggest names in combats sports calling for his head.

But it seems he may finally lock horns with a genuine boxer after all.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, whose father is boxing royalty, has emerged as the frontrunner to lock horns with Paul after the social media star expressed interest in facing him.

"I want the [Chavez Jr] fight," Paul said a few months back.

"We have to figure out the set-up of it - obviously he's making bold asks right off the jump.

"But he's a little cuckoo, I think everybody in the boxing industry knows that he's a little cuckoo.

"So we'll see, I want the fight but some people are saying he might not even show up."

However, despite previously ignoring Paul's relentless call-outs and taunts, a familiar face in the MMA world appears to have shown an interest in finally silencing the YouTuber.

UFC megastar Conor McGregor has been one of the many names on Paul's lips since his rise to stardom and has finally changed his tune when it comes to actually locking horns.

"Who knows? Never say never," McGregor said at a recent MMA event.

The bout against Chavez Jr would be huge, but a fight with perhaps the most well-known athlete on the planet would be on another level.
