GRAPHIC WARNING!
AFL Star Wil Powell has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a truly sickening injury over the weekend.
It was the sort of injury which left viewers shocked as the game's commentators screamed out for the young player to receive medical attention.
Overall, it made for pretty scary scenes.
Halfway through the third quarter in the clash between the Gold Coast Suns and Adelaide Crows, 22-year-old Powell was tackled mid-air by Ned McHenry.

Suns star Powell had just booted the ball down the field when recovering defender McHenry made contact with him.
The impact knocked Powell slightly off balance, but it was enough to send him crashing to the turf in a heap as his leg gave way beneath him, taking the brunt of his weight.

At the time, it looked like a fairly innocuous challenge, one that was definitely unintentional on McHenry's part.
But it wasn't long before the true extent of Powell's injury was revealed.
When cameras zoomed in, you could see the youngster rolling around in agony with his right foot facing the other direction.
One of the Fox Sports commentators shouted: "Oh my goodness, that is horrific. They need to stop play surely?
"They need to get the stretcher out and stop play.
"He is in a world of pain. As you can see, the pictures are pretty graphic.
"That leg is turned at right angles from where it should be. That’s horrible.
The injury was so gruesome that Fox Sports refused to show replays of it.

Other players, including McHenry himself, rushed over to help but the expressions on their faces showed just how concerning the situation was.
The game was stopped for eight minutes so that Powell could receive medical attention, eventually being stretchered off the field in a buggy as the fans gave him a standing ovation.
Meanwhile, other viewers took to social media to send messages of support to the Suns player, some calling it the worst injury they'd ever seen.

Right external rotation ankle deformity for Wil Powell.
Typical result: fracture-dislocation + assoc ligament damage.
Isolated dislocs are rare. Prompt reduction (put back in place). Imaging next. Surgery expected. #AFL pic.twitter.com/MRrhj4Cw01

Wil Powell is such an incredible, cheeky, charismatic kid. Spend ten minutes in his company and you realise why everyone loves him. Serious leg issue as Budarick damages his own hamstring. Season-ending injuries to Ben King, Lachie Weller, now Powell. Makes you feel a bit sick

Caught just a glimpse of that, and don’t want to see it again. Thoughts with Will Powell. Well done to Fox Footy for not showing replays. #AFLSunsCrows
