Tottenham Drop Out of Jesus Race As Arsenal Negotiations Intensify

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly withdrawn from the race to sign Gabriel Jesus.

With negotiations between Manchester City and Arsenal nearing a conclusion for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus, it would appear their North London rivals have conceded defeat and will turn their attention to other transfer targets.

After securing a Champions League spot, Antonio Conte is looking to fortify his attacking options by attempting to secure the services of Gabriel Jesus. However, it would appear the North London rivals may have beaten them to the Brazilian’s signature. Negotiations between Edu and Jesus’ camp have intensified over recent weeks and as negotiations continue, it seems that it has become a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’ the Brazilian will sign.

Spurs had one of the more potent attacking trios consisting of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and newly acquired Dejan Kulusevski. With Jesus likely on his way to Arsenal, they will now look to turn their attention to one of his Brazilian teammates Richarlison, or another Arsenal target Raphinha.

However, for the Gunners, Jesus would represent a much needed acquisition to their attack that was heavily reliant on young talent to get them over the line. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah combining for a very poor nine Premier League goals, the 25-year-old Brazilian would hopefully, for Arsenal’s sake, provide a much bigger goal threat and propel them to their season targets.

Jesus is still on his holiday after a long, gruelling season. But with his representation and Edu having a very good relationship, look for negotiations to pick up pace when the Brazilian is back from his break.
