Gabriel Jesus Pictured Arriving At Arsenal And Being Greeted By Edu

Gabriel Jesus has been pictured being greeted by Edu as he nears completion of his Arsenal transfer.

Gabriel Jesus was pictured arriving at Arsenal’s London Colney and being warmly greeted by Edu.

The long-awaited arrival of Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus seems to be drawing to a celebratory end as he has just been pictured arriving at Arsenal and being embraced by his compatriot and Arsenal technical director Edu.

Since Erling Haaland arrived at Manchester City, it was widely speculated that Gabriel Jesus would be departing the Etihad seeking regular playing time and being the focal point of an attack.

Arsenal have been in direct negotiations with his camp for numerous months and they are now in the final stages of closing the deal. The 25-year-old has been seen at the London Colney today and it looks as though the announcement of his acquisition is drawing nearer.

The Gunners have needed a forward since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang departed the club in January after a fallout with Mikel Arteta. A loss of a player of that profile proved costly as losses to Crystal Place, Brighton and Southampton contributed to the Gunners not reaching their goal.

Among other targets, it was speculated that Jesus was Mikel Arteta’s preferred target, and it would appear Arteta has got his man. Having formed a relationship at Manchester City, the Spaniard was keen to reignite that partnership and have Jesus spearhead the attack of his rebuild.

Arsenal came agonisingly close to securing a Champions League spot last season. Mikel Arteta will hope that the capture of Jesus will get them over the hump.

Having had so much success at City, Jesus will be bringing a championship pedigree and a winning mentality.

The lack of potency from Arsenal’s strikers was a cause for concern for all associated with the club.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah combined for an inadequate nine Premier League goals last season.

Since his arrival at Manchester City, Jesus has been an integral part in winning four Premier League titles and has managed 159 Premier League appearances netting 58 goals and providing 29 assists.
